Buhari give us food to eat, protesting Benue pensioners lament (Video)

Some retired civil servants in Benue state have staged a peaceful protest in Makurdi to beg for President Muhammadu Buhari’s intervention over the alleged failure of the State Government to pay their entitlements.

The pensioners, mostly women took to the streets holding plates and spoons and chanting “Chinkafa kpa yina a mo, gande me za kaa Buhari”. (As rice no reach me, better make I go tell Buhari).

The pensioners during the protest called on President Buhari to help alleviate their suffering by giving them one month worth of their entitlement so they can buy food for their children, they alleged that even though the Federal Government has remitted the state government, the money has been diverted by the Benue state governor, hence nothing has been given to them.

They said because of hardship occasioned by nonpayment of their pension and gratuity, pensioners can no longer send their children to school which has make some of their children turn to drugs.
