Cocaine driver Kills two soldiers in Delta road accident

Two personnel of the Nigerian Army attached to the 63 Brigade have died following a fatal road traffic accident in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Military sources said the incident occurred on May 30 along 74 Road, when the soldiers, who were riding on a motorcycle, were reportedly struck by a vehicle.

Security personnel were said to have responded to distress reports and immediately evacuated the victims to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre for treatment.

However, both soldiers were confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel.

Following the crash, the driver of the vehicle involved was arrested by security operatives at the scene.

Preliminary investigations reportedly indicated that the suspect tested positive for cannabis and cocaine after a drug screening.

The suspect has since been handed over to the 63 Provost Company for further investigation and disciplinary action.

Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased soldiers have been deposited at the morgue of the Asaba Specialist Hospital as authorities continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
