Corps member found dead in lodge
The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the death of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in the Dambam Local Government Area.
The discovery was made on Sunday, August 10, 2025, around 9:20 a.m. when other corps members were preparing for church. They noticed that 28-year-old Nwokedi Chukwuebuka Gerald, whose state code number is BA/25A/2069, had not woken up.

Police officers were sent to the lodge and took his body to the General Hospital in Dambam, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor. His remains have since been moved to the Federal Medical Centre, Azare, for preservation.
According to police sources, there were no obvious signs of violence on the body, and foul play is not currently suspected. An investigation into the cause of his death is underway.
