COVID-19 Pandemic: Popular American actor Vin Diesel returns for Bloodshot 2

The first film may have received a largely negative response upon its release earlier this year, but now we have word that a Bloodshot 2 is on the way.

Speaking to CBR, DMG CEO Dan Mintz – DMG which is the parent company of the Valiant imprint to which Bloodshotcalls home, stated that Vin Diesel is reprising his headlining role for Bloodshot 2.

Bloodshot was one of the first movies to be hit hard by the ongoing global pandemic, with its release coming just as the world shut down. As such, Bloodshot was quickly shifted from a theatrical release to a VOD release.

Mintz cited a “very successful” VOD performance for the picture as not putting the powers-that-be of pushing forward with a Bloodshot sequel.

Having managed a brief two-week run in US cinemas before going straight to VOD, Bloodshot didn’t even manage to make its $45 million budget back by the time all was said and done.

It’s worth adding that Sony Pictures has yet to make any official announcement of a Bloodshot 2, so we’ll all have to see if and when this develops further.
