To ensure a smooth and organised process, the NCS said applicants are being screened in batches according to the alphabetical order of their states of origin to prevent overcrowding at the venue.
Speaking at the screening centre, the Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs in charge of Human Resource Development, Frank Onyeka, congratulated the candidates for reaching the final stage of the recruitment process and urged them to remain disciplined.
Onyeka stressed that physical fitness was not the only consideration in the selection process, noting that candidates’ character, attitude and professional conduct would also play an important role.
“On behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs, I congratulate you on reaching this stage,” he said.

He disclosed that the NCS was working with the Customs Police and other relevant units to safeguard the credibility and integrity of the recruitment exercise.
The Commandant of the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Dow Gaura, said adequate measures had been implemented to ensure an efficient screening process.
Gaura attributed the smooth conduct of the exercise to administrative innovations and cooperation among the various agencies and units involved.
