Lagos State House of Assembly member, Desmond Elliot, has apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, following a disagreement over the recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Lagos.
Elliot was seen in a video circulating on social media kneeling before Gbajabiamila while asking for forgiveness and appealing for reconciliation with the ruling party.
Speaking in the video, the lawmaker expressed regret over his actions and appealed to the APC leadership to give him another opportunity.

“I’m sorry, I have no excuse, I have nothing other than to say I’m deeply sorry and I am hoping to be cultured in the future,” Elliot said.
The apology comes after a disagreement between Elliot and the APC leadership following the party’s primary election for the Surulere Constituency I seat in May.
Elliot had withdrawn from the exercise, alleging intimidation and political pressure against his supporters. He later rejected the outcome and indicated that he would challenge the process through the party’s appeal mechanism.
The lawmaker eventually lost the APC ticket to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, who was widely believed to have the backing of Gbajabiamila.

Odunuga-Bakare secured 11,385 votes, defeating Elliot, who polled 270 votes in the primary.
Elliot’s latest move appears aimed at ending the disagreement and restoring his relationship with the APC leadership in Lagos.
