Chelsea’s Diego Costa says he won’t return to the club and is planning to go back to Atletico Madrid.
Costa who is currently in Brazil has threatened to remain there rather than return to London, and then leave on a free transfer.
“My destination has already been decided. I must return to Atletico Madrid.
“It turns out that there is the impasse that Chelsea do not want to release me. But I believe that this situation will be resolved now on my return to Spain,” the statement read.
But Chelsea wants him to return in order for the player to go through a selection process.
Costa’s lawyer said last week that the player plans to hand in a transfer request and may consider legal action if the club refuses to grant his request.
