El-Rufai says he may be arrested over criticism of Tinubu

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, says he believes security agencies may soon arrest him following his recent criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

El-Rufai made the remark on Wednesday during an interview with BBC Hausa, where he alleged that some of his former aides and associates had already been picked up by operatives.

According to him, the development suggests he could be the next target.

“They have arrested at least four people who worked with me in Kaduna, so it is only a matter of time before they arrest me too. I know they will come for me,” he said.

The former governor did not provide details of the identities of those allegedly detained or the specific offences for which they were arrested.
