With two goals away United will have to perform optimally with a victory if they desire to advance to the next round when they host Barça next week.

Marcos Alonso was first to find the back of the net in the 50th minute after both sides played a goalless draw in the first half.

Marcus Rashford pulled one back to level the scoreline two minutes later.

The two sides having great history of football gave their all which paid off as Jules Kounde mistakenly flicked the ball which came as a cross from Rashford scoring an own goal to put United ahead.

The former Leeds United player who is now in La Liga, Raphinha saved the day for Barça to equalise in the 76th minute.

Both teams will slug it out next week Thursday to find a winner for the next round.   Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma lost 1-0 to RB Salzburg while Ajax played a goalless draw with Union Berlin.
