Everton’s hopes for the Premier League next season still hangs after Brentford twice came from behind to claim all three points against the Toffees at Goodison Park Sunday evening.
The Frank Lampard boys started with the pressure in the opening 10 minutes of the game and Dominic Calvert-Lewin making his first start since 9 April, got the faintest of touches to Richarlison’s flick finding the back of the net.

The game leveled 27 minutes later after Seamus Coleman’s own goal but Everton regained the lead courtesy of Richarlison’s penalty before the break.
Brentford dominated the second half and deservedly made it 2-2 through Yoane Wissa’s looping header, before Rico Henry headed Christian Norgaard’s delivery into the far corner to put Thomas Frank’s side ahead for the first time in the match.
The Toffees’ woes were compounded late on when substitute Salomon Rondon was sent off for a two-footed lunge on Henry.
Earlier on, Manchester City came back from two goals down for the first time under Pep Guardiola to earn a point at West Ham that means victory over Aston Villa on the final day will see them crowned champions.
