Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha attained martyrdom in the pipeline explosion which rocked the Abule Ado community of Lagos State in the early hours of Sunday and affected the Bethlehem Girls College.
Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha was the Principal of Bethlehem High School, she died while making efforts to rescue some students of the school.
In a statement signed by Bro Vincent Iwueze, “Alokha rescued all the children under her care from the fire but could not make it herself”.
The statement reads:
“The explosion according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) destroyed over 50 buildings in the area.
“Bethlehem High School is one of the three schools affected by the explosion that happened around 8 am on Sunday, March 15, 2020.
“Earlier videos that captured the students of the boarding school being evacuated from the scene of the explosion went viral.
