Fatal tanker explosion claims multiple lives in Kaduna
Multiple people have been confirmed dead following a tanker explosion in Dan Magaji, Zaria, Kaduna State, according to eyewitnesses.
The explosion happened around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, near the Rochas Foundation School along the Kaduna, Kano expressway bypass.
The crash involved two fuel-laden tankers and two passenger-filled Golf cars. The collision resulted in five loud explosions, causing a large fire and thick smoke that covered the highway.

According to a security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who shared accounts from witnesses on his X handle, “All the occupants of the cars died on the spot, except one driver who survived but sustained severe burns.”
Emergency services and security operatives quickly cordoned off the area. They are currently managing the scene and have advised motorists to use alternative routes as rescue and recovery operations are ongoing.
