FIDA Yobe’s GBV Awareness Week: Navigating the clash of tradition, modernity

FIDA Yobe successfully hosted its FIDA week/AGM on November 29-30, 2023, with the theme “Gender Based Violence in Nigeria: Navigating the Clash of Tradition and Modernity.”

The event was marked by the attendance of esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Judge of Yobe State, Justice G.K. Kaigama, HAG Barrister Saleh Samanja, Grand Khadi, CP, High Court Judges, and Magistrates.

Barrister Hannatu Farouk Jauro, Chairperson of FIDA Yobe, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing GBV in Yobe State.

The event featured insightful presentations from guest speakers.

Dr Ibrahim Aliyu Shehu from the Faculty of Law at Yobe State University spoke about GBV from a legal perspective, while Dr Fatima Aji discussed the medical aspect of GBV.

The event was impactful and enlightening, and FIDA Yobe is grateful to all attendees for their participation.
