Flood claims 14 lives, over 100 missing

A devastating flash flood in India has resulted in the loss of at least 14 lives, with more than 100 individuals currently reported as missing. The tragedy unfolded when heavy rains caused a sudden surge in the Teesta River, leading to severe damage and collapses of fourteen bridges. Several villages have also been inundated, adding to the scale of the disaster.

In addition to the loss of life and destruction, the flash flood has caused significant disruptions in the affected state of Sikkim. A major highway has been damaged, hindering transportation, and the mobile network availability has been disrupted in certain areas. These challenges have left approximately 3,000 travelers stranded, unable to reach their intended destinations.
