Football coach describes motive behind ex-lover’s death

A 45-year-old football coach named Bankole Oginni has confessed to the gruesome murder of his ex-lover, shedding light on his motive for the shocking crime.

The Ondo State Police Command arrested Oginni after he committed the heinous act at his residence in Oke-Aro, Akure, the state capital.

The victim had been lured to his house through a phone invitation.

According to Daily Post, the suspect was apprehended when the victim didn’t return home on Saturday, leading authorities to trace her whereabouts to Oginni’s residence.

Detailing the events leading to his ex-lover’s death, Bankole explained that she had approached him for financial assistance. In response, he instructed her to visit his family home to collect the money.

Upon her arrival, he offered her a drink, and shortly thereafter, she collapsed. Driven by panic, he attempted to revive her by using hot water. Sadly, all his efforts proved futile.

Overwhelmed by fear and desperation, he ultimately made the horrific decision to cut off her intestines in an attempt to conceal her body.
