Four men in Imo sentenced to prison for sodomy

 

Four men in Imo State have been sentenced to prison by an Owerri magistrate court, presided over by Barrister Uche Stella Chukwu.

They pleaded guilty to charges of sodomizing three young adults in the state.

Chibuzor Peter, 37 years old, was accused of engaging in unlawful sexual acts with three boys, aged 18 and 19, through the use of force, threats, and intimidation.

He received a seven-year prison sentence for conspiring with three others: Sunday, Chimezie, and Oparaugo, in the forceful sodomy of the three boys.

The magistrate ruled that their actions violated the section 516 of the criminal code, constituting an offense contrary to unnatural conduct.

XdThey were also sentenced to seven years under section 214 of the state’s criminal code, to which they pleaded guilty.

While Peter was handed a 14-year prison term, his accomplices received seven years each, with the option of a fine of N500,000.

The magistrate ordered that these sentences should run concurrently, and they have since been transferred to the Owerri Correctional Centre.
