The man, who hailed from Gombe State, was discovered near the busy PZ area in the state.

According to reports, the deceased, alongside his suspected killers, had travelled to Zaria to join the Nigerian Army.

A source told TrustTV that the man was allegedly “hacked to death by his colleagues, who withdrew about ₦800,000 from his account.”

“The deceased told his friends that his parents sent about ₦1 million into his account. On Friday, he gave his ATM card and password to a friend to withdraw ₦10,000 and buy food.”

While investigation has commenced, his friends are allegedly the prime suspects in the murder, as they had prior knowledge of the money in his account and know his ATM password.

The Army Depot’s Public Relations Officer acknowledged that the military is aware of the incident involving a civilian being robbed and murdered near PZ.

Speaking to newsmen, the PRO remarked, “Please be aware that we have also learned of an incident in which a citizen was robbed and slain near PZ. The Zaria Divisional Police is in charge of this case.”

The young man’s body has been deposited in a medical facility in Zaria.
