Story from Saleh INUWA, Kano

Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has sacked the coordinator of NNPC/AKK Nigeria/Niger Gas Project for insubordination and inefficiency.

In a statement through the office of Kano State Commissioner for Information, Comrade Muhammad Garba, the governor said the NNPC/AKK Nigeria/Niger Project, which is very strategic to the two countries and Kano State government was supposed to reach an advanced stage in terms of implementation, but this is not the case as the coordinator, Engineer Muazu is ineffective.

The state government accused Muazu of abandoning this very important assignment which was supposed to see him shuttling between Abuja, Kano and Niger Republic, hence the need to sack him and appoint somebody that will handle the job effectively.

Recall that the first time Ganduje sacked Engineer Dansarauniya from his cabinet was when the latter openly celebrated through the media, the death of former Chief of Staff to President Buhari, late Abba Kyari, an action which embarrassed the Kano State government prompting an apology to the presidency.

Muazu, a former Commissioner of Works under the Ganduje-led administration, has been known to have disagreements with the state’s APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, and granting interviews that in some cases embarrasses the state government.

In his response to the sack letter from the state government, Engineer Muazu Dansarauniya described Ganduje as “a car whose brake has just failed and if not given a chance, he will kill whoever is standing in front of him”. He, however, promised to fight back in his own way soon.
