Gov. Buni has positively impacted all sectors of economy in Yobe – Group

Following recent allegations that Yobe State Governor Hon Mai Mala Buni has placed more emphasis on the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) than his primary responsibility of governing the state. A group known as Intellectual and Concern Indigenes of Yobe State (ICIYS) has described the allegations as untrue and baseless.

The group made the declaration through its chairman Abubakar Kachallah Zaid during an interactive session with newsmen in Damaturu today. They tagged the allegations as baseless and unfounded, saying the Governor has never for once failed to execute his mandate in piloting the affairs of the state.

Zaid added that “In less than three years in office, the Buni administration has constructed a total of over 3000 housing units, Ultramodern Markets in the major towns of Damaturu, Gashu’a, Nguru and Tarmuwa, electrification of towns and villages as well as establishment and upgrading of 132 out of 178 Primary Healthcare Centers among others”.

He expressed dismay that most of those who are criticising the Governor are those who know less about Yobe, adding that the Governor has within his stay in office made positive impacts on all sectors of human endeavour, ranging from education, agriculture, commerce, industries, youths and women empowerment.

“For us here in Yobe, as sons and daughters of this space we call home, we cherish revere and see growth from a small state to what it is today.

“We find it utterly disgusting for persons far from here, far from our realities to concoct what can best be described as an incongruous political smear by espousing, as if they know what happens here, that His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni has failed in fulfilling his duties of serving Yobe and Yobeans.

“As indigenes of this state and as people that live and thrive in the communities and streets of the 17 LGAs that make up our map since 2009, nothing is farther from the truth, farther from integrity and farther from facts than the claim of His Excellency not attending to his constitutional role of providing for the people,” he disclosed.

The chairman said though, as democrats they respect the principles of freedom of speech, they advice for a thorough investigation before castigating the governor’s performance.
