In his plan that Yobe State attains the first position in the 2020 WAEC despite the COVID-19 global pandemic, the Governor of Yobe State, honourable Mai Mala Buni has put more emphasis on the educational sector in the state, urging teachers to guide students and give them the necessary materials needed to eradicate this challenge.
This was disclosed to Neptune Prime by the honourable commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Muhammad Sani Idris, who said that he has inspected and observed the guidelines and necessary protocols given by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
While urging students to read their books, Dr Sani Idris said there is a state of emergency in the educational sector, and therefore all hands must be on deck to revive it.
Meanwhile, Dr Sani has donated the sum of one hundred thousand naira for three months, making it three hundred thousand naira for the construction of mosques in Government Higher Islamic Secondary School, Yusufari.
The Commissioner in his sensitisation tour has visited schools like; Government science Technical college Gujba, Government Science Technical college Gaidam, Government secondary school Gaidam, Kafela junior day school Gaidam.
Others are; Government Science Secondary school Kannama, Bukarti, Government Secondary School Yunusari, Government Secondary School Yusufari, Government Higher Islamic college Yusufari.
