“As a result of the attack, one Klengchin Yusuf and eleven others lost their lives while one person who was critically wounded is receiving treatment at the Mangu General Hospital.

“Investigation in the case is ongoing and the Command solicits for information from members of the public to facilitate early arrest and prosecution of perpetrators of the dastardly act to serve as a deterrent to others,” he said.

Meanwhile, the state Governor Simon Lalong in a press release signed by his director of press and public affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, condemned the attack.

“We have toiled to ensure that peace returns to Plateau state and we will not allow anyone to make nonsense our efforts.

“We are determined to deal decisively and firmly with anybody found inciting people to carry out attacks against one another,” he said.
