A political support group, Coalition of Yobe State APC Support Group, has commended the administration of Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for executing people-oriented projects which have brought improved development to the state.

Chairman of the group, Haruna Adamu Sardauna, made the commendation when his team paid a courtesy call on Dr Hassan Gimba, CEO/Publisher of Neptune Prime Network in Abuja.

Welcoming the team, Dr Gimba appreciated the executives for the visit and said the progress achieved in Yobe State under the Buni-led administration is remarkable.

Earlier speaking on some of the achievements, Sardauna commended the orderly style of palliatives’ distribution by Yobe government to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

He said the state government distributed food relief palliatives to assist lower-income households and also purchased buses to help with transportation costs.

The chairman acknowledged Governor Buni’s swift intervention in the education sector after he declared a state of emergency on both primary and secondary education immediately he was sworn into office on 29 May 2019.

He noted that the governor constructed model schools, renovated blocks of classrooms, provided instructional materials and approved the training and re-training of teachers to uplift the standard of education across the state.

He mentioned how all these efforts are yielding positive results as Yobe State has moved from the bottom to rank in the first 20 West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO).

Applauding the Buni-led administration in stabilising security and restoring peace to the once insurgency-ravaged state, Sardauna commended how the governor partnered relevant security agencies to end the activities of Boko Haram terrorists, thereby returning internally displaced persons to their ancestral homes.

He mentioned how the government bought standard crime fighting vehicles like Hiluxs to help security agencies curtail criminal activities in the state.

The group said they are impressed with the projects put in place to restore business and agriculture like the subsidisation of the cost of fertiliser for farmers, the provision of mechanised farming equipments like tractors and the construction of ultra modern markets in various local governments.

On the success recorded in the healthcare sector, the group noted that the administration built standard Specialist Hospitals in four populated local government areas of the state (Geidam, Gashua, Nguru, and Potiskum). They noted how the Governor has been employing qualified health professionals to boost proactiveness in all the health centres across the state.

On poverty alleviation, the government spent billions of naira to empower women and youth groups to reduce unemployment and youth restiveness in the state, introduced numerous empowerment programmes, and empowered small businesses through the granting of interest-free loans as part of plans to create wealth in the state.

He said such excellent initiatives provided the people with tangible source of income as they return to their liberated communities.

Sardauna acknowledged how the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni gave vital role to young people in governance processes by appointing Commissioners, General Managers, Education Secretaries and other key officials that are under the age of 40.

The group urged Governor Mai Mala Buni to keep up the good work and said the people of Yobe State are enjoying the dividend of democracy under his administration.

He said Yobeans are proud of the Governor’s vision, transparency and management of resources to transform the state.

He called on Yobeans to continue with prayers and give the administration full support always.
