Gunmen attack Benue community, shoot priest dead

Rev. Father Fabian Ngugban of Aye Twar parish, a Catholic Priest in Agu Centre near Sai, Katsina-Ala LGA has been shot dead by unknown gunmen.

In a report by Daily Post, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning, as gunmen attacked the community, shooting sporadically before firing a shot at the priest, which triggered tension in the area.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Anene Sewuese Catherine, said they were yet to receive an accurate report on the unsettling information.

“I can’t confirm it now because we are yet to receive an official report in that regard. When the report arrives, I will get back to you”, she said.
