Barely 10 days after the collapse of the 21-storey building in the Ikoyi area of Lagos, the state government has announced that it will set aside funds to support families of victims affected by the incident.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the State Governor made this known on Wednesday.

However, the governor did not disclose the amount set aside for nor did he mention the amount family will be getting.
“In order to help survivors and families of the victims cushion the effect of the loss of their daily bread and the loss of their loved ones, we have set aside some money to assist in the burial arrangements, and for survivors to settle in and cope with challenges of feeding in the aftermath of the incident,” he said.
The collapse of the building resulted to the death of 44 persons who were trapped in the rubles and 15 persons survived.
According to reports, some investors signed contracts ranging from over USD500, 000 (N206.5 million) to over USD3 million.
The state will commence DNA sampling of the deceased for identification.
