I’m not a coward, I won’t join APC – Gov Bala Mohammed

Story by Okafor Vivian

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has dismissed speculations that he plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting he remains firmly committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor, while reacting to reports linking him with a possible defection, described such claims as baseless and misleading, stressing that political pressure or inducements would not make him abandon his principles.

“I am not a coward, and I will not join the APC,” Bala Mohammed declared, reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP and its ideals. He said his focus remains on delivering good governance and fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people of Bauchi State.

Governor Mohammed also cautioned against deliberate attempts to stir political tension through unfounded rumours, urging supporters to remain calm and resolute. He maintained that his administration is more concerned with development, security, and the welfare of citizens than partisan distractions.

The statement comes amid a wave of defections and political realignments ahead of future elections, which have continued to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
