Immigration arrests 51 Malians for illegal entry into Nigeria

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has arrested 51 illegal immigrants in New Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

The group, consisting of 11 females and 40 males aged between 17 and 25, are all nationals of Mali. They were apprehended after credible intelligence led authorities to their hideouts.

NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI A.S. Akinlabi, revealed that a preliminary investigation suggests the migrants may be victims of human trafficking and migrant smuggling.
