INEC declares Soludo winner of Anambra governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.

The Returning Officer, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the result early Sunday morning at the INEC collation centre in Awka, the state capital.

According to the official figures, Soludo garnered 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 99,445 votes.

George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 10,576 votes, while Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished fourth with 1,401 votes.

While declaring the result, Prof. Omoregie said the election was largely peaceful and met all legal requirements.

“I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, hereby declare that Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, having scored 422,664 votes the highest number of valid votes cast and having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared winner and returned elected,” he stated.
