Iran has warned neighbouring countries against cooperating with the United States to restrict Iranian flights, threatening to take measures that could disrupt operations at their airports.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued the warning in an interview with Iranian state television on Wednesday.
Rezaei said Iran would respond if neighbouring countries stopped Iranian aircraft from using their airports in compliance with US measures.

The warning came after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Monday that American sanctions would force Iranian airlines to stop operating from September 23.
According to Bessent, the measures would target air services providers through secondary sanctions, potentially affecting the ability of Iranian airlines to operate internationally.
The development comes amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States, which Reuters said had entered its seventh month.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian travelled to New York on Tuesday, with his departure taking place at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran.
