Boko Haram terrorist group on Sunday again attacked the convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, journalist along the Monguno-Maiduguri road.

This third attack is coming barely 48 when some members of the sect ambushed the convoy of Governor Zulum along Cross Kauwa-Baga road in Borno state leaving.

According to some of the people who returned back to Maiduguri on Sunday evening from the tour, they were shot at by Boko Haram.

One of the victims said the windscreen of some vehicle were scattered, some vehicles had their tyres busted by gunshots, including the Government House Press Crew bus and other government vehicles.

A journalist in the affected bus said that the convoy ran into another Boko Haram ambush about 60km away to Maiduguri.

“The military gun truck was also shot at and a soldier had his shoulder scalded with a gunshot.”

Zulum has distributed food items and cash support to each of the 521 displaced but returned households, each household was given cash support of N10,000 to assist them in resettling.

He also appealed to the returnee IDPs to be patient while their individual houses are being renovated, urging them to share residences at least for sometimes before everything is prepared.

He assured them of security from aggression, noting that the Nigerian military, police, civil defence, Immigration Service, CJTF and vigilante hunters have been deployed to provide security of lives and property in Baga and its environs as well as ensure the establishment of law and order.
