KACRAN applauds Potiskum LG Chairman for boosting herders’ welfare with water points
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has commended the Executive Chairman of Potiskum Local Government, Salisu Muktari, for his efforts in providing water points for herders in the area.
During a courtesy visit to the Chairman at the Potiskum Local Government Council chamber, KACRAN’s National President, Khalil Mohd Bello, praised Muktari’s dedication to addressing the needs of pastoralists.
Bello highlighted the Chairman’s promise to construct additional water points in the 2025 fiscal year, building on his already commendable record of service.
Addressing herders in Potiskum and its environs, Bello urged them to maintain peaceful coexistence with farmers by avoiding farmland destruction, particularly during the ongoing harvest season. He stressed the importance of collaboration, describing farmers and herders as “partners in progress.”
The KACRAN President also lauded the Yobe State Government, led by Governor Mai Mala Buni, for its efforts to resolve farmer-herder conflicts, which have historically strained relations in the state.

In response, Muktari reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting KACRAN’s initiatives and pledged to construct a new water point for herders. He called on KACRAN’s leadership to identify suitable locations for the facilities.
The visit ended on a positive note, with both parties emphasizing the importance of harmony and collaboration in fostering community development.
