Kano board bans newly released film, investigates crew members

Story from Jamilu Lawan YAKASAI

The Kano State Censorship Board is taking a serious action against the production crew of the film “Zarmalulu” due to its allegedly meaningless title aimed at attracting viewers.

The Executive Secretary, Alh. Abba El-mustapha, received complaints from concerned Kano citizens and has invited the crew members to appear before the committee for investigation.

The board has suspended all activities related to the film and warned the production crew to obey the directive or face serious law action. This move is part of the board’s effort to sanitize the Kannywood film industry and ensure that films conform to acceptable standard.

People should note that the Kano State Censorship Board has the authority to approve or reject films, as well as regulate the industry, according to the established board’ laws.
