Killers of Rivers State DPO brandish assault rifles, challenge police
The notorious Iceland Cult gang, suspected to be responsible for the killing and dismemberment of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) SP Bako Angbashim in Ahoada East Council, Rivers State, has released a video showcasing their weapons.
The video, which surfaced on a WhatsApp platform and has been widely circulated, indicates that the gang is prepared for battle against the police and suggests that they are still located in the Ahoada forest.

In the video, approximately 10 young men can be seen brandishing automatic assault rifles such as AK-47s and pump-action guns. They are gathered in a makeshift hut within an unidentified forest, chanting and praising the prowess of the Iceland cult.
The prime suspect, Gift Divine Okpara, also known as 2 Baba, can be seen wearing a white polo shirt and cap, holding an AK-47 rifle equipped with five magazines. He is seated at a table surrounded by his associates in front of a shrine.
During the video, 2 Baba refers to himself as the “double Don,” while his followers pay him “maximum respect” and hail him.

The incident occurred on September 8 when the cult gang ambushed Angbashim and his team while they were returning from a raid in the Odiemudie forest. The cultists, who remain at large, captured, murdered, and dismembered Angbashim, later sharing a video mocking his body.
The heinous act has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for the immediate arrest of the cultists. Both the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetekun, have offered rewards of N100 million for information leading to the capture of Okpara.
While some security experts believe that the video might be an old one intended to cause distraction, the Rivers State Police Command has not yet commented on the recently surfaced footage.
