KSrelief partners with NEMA to deliver 4,900 food baskets in Adamawa, Kebbi (Pictures)
In a bid to support vulnerable communities in Nigeria, the Saudi-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has announced plans to distribute 4,900 food baskets to individuals in Adamawa and Kebbi States.
This humanitarian initiative, aimed at alleviating food insecurity, will be executed in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
The announcement was made on Thursday during a courtesy visit by KSrelief representative, Mr. Al-Yousef Abdulkarim Abdul-Mohsen, to NEMA’s headquarters in Abuja. Speaking at the event, Mr. Abdul-Mohsen disclosed that KSrelief has engaged a contractor to supply the food items, while NEMA will oversee their reception and facilitate direct distribution to the identified beneficiaries in the two states.
“This initiative is part of KSrelief’s commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and families globally. We have full confidence in NEMA’s capacity and integrity to ensure the seamless and transparent delivery of the aid to those in need,” he stated.
In response, NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by the Director of Planning, Research, and Forecasting, Dr. Onimode Abdullahi Bandele, expressed gratitude to KSrelief for its generous intervention.
She emphasised that the assistance would complement the Nigerian government’s ongoing efforts to provide relief to disadvantaged populations.

“NEMA assures KSrelief and the public that the food items will be distributed in a transparent and accountable manner to the targeted beneficiaries. This collaboration signifies a shared commitment to addressing humanitarian needs in Nigeria,” she remarked.
The food distribution project underscores KSrelief’s dedication to global humanitarian efforts and further strengthens the longstanding partnership between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria in addressing critical issues such as poverty and food security.
Distribution is expected to commence shortly, with beneficiaries already identified to ensure efficient and timely delivery of the aid.
