Kwankwaso files lawsuit at Kano Court to stop EFCC arrest

Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) 2023 Presidential Candidate, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has filed a lawsuit at the Kano State High Court, to stop the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) from arresting him.

The court was presided over by Justice Yusuf Ubale.

A reliable source revealed that Kwankwaso is being investigated for alleged N2.5bn pension fraud and misappropriation of another 2.5bn campaign funds.

Earlier this month, the former governor was grilled by investigators of the anti-graft agency.

A source within the EFCC familiar with the matter but had no authourisation to speak, said, “The commission invited Kwakwanso over the alleged N2.5bn Kano pension funds. We have grilled Kwakwanso over the matter, and he has provided some details to interrogators.”

Another source noted, “Former Kano governor, Kwakwanso has been invited by the commission. He has been grilled, and we’re continuing with our investigation.”
