Nabby Keita’s 19th minute strike against Newcastle United at St James’ Park was the only goal needed for Liverpool to reclaim top spot on the English Premier League (EPL) table Saturday afternoon.

Newcastle started strongly in the first few minutes of the game against the Reds who were without Mohammed Salah after playing 2-0 against Villarreal on Wednesday in UEFA Champions League.

Despite Jurgen Klopp’s five changes, Liverpool on the field of play looked comfortable as they almost made it 2-0 before the break.

The hosts also made a lively start to the second half, although Liverpool went closest to adding a second with Mane shooting wide from close range before Jota’s shot was pushed over.
