Makinde set to sign ₦892bn 2026 budget on Monday

 

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is expected to sign the ₦892 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law on Monday, following its passage by the State House of Assembly.

 

According to government sources, the budget prioritises infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic expansion, in line with the administration’s development agenda. The signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Governor’s Office, Ibadan.

The state legislature had earlier considered and approved the budget after weeks of deliberations and engagement with ministries, departments, and agencies. Lawmakers said the spending plan reflects the needs of residents and aligns with the state’s long-term growth strategy.

 

Governor Makinde has reiterated his administration’s commitment to prudent financial management and timely implementation of the budget to drive development across Oyo State in the 2026 fiscal year.
