Man arrested for stealing sesame seeds from FCT farm
A 37-year-old man, Enoch Ayuba, has been apprehended by vigilantes for allegedly stealing a bag of sesame (beniseed) from a farm in Kilankwa village, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to Solomon Bako, a member of the vigilante group, the suspect was caught attempting to sell the stolen beniseed at Kwaita village market on Tuesday.
Bako revealed that Ayuba had allegedly harvested the sesame from a farm owned by Ishaya Jacob on Monday evening without the farmer’s consent.
“The farmer reported to one of our members in Kilankwa village, and the vigilantes were kept at alert around the beniseed section of Kwaita market,” Bako said.
“As God will catch up with the man, he brought the beniseed to sell at the market, and the owner was also in the market when he was caught trying to sell it. He has confessed to stealing the beniseed,” he added.
