Manchester United appoints Ruben Amorim as new head coach

Manchester United has officially named Ruben Amorim as the club’s new head coach, set to assume the role on November 11, following the recent departure of Erik ten Hag.

United confirmed Amorim, currently head coach at Sporting Lisbon, as their top choice, describing him as one of Europe’s most exciting coaching talents.

Amorim’s contract with the Red Devils extends until June 2027, with an option for an additional year. The 39-year-old coach will conclude his responsibilities with Sporting Lisbon, leading the Portuguese champions through their next three fixtures before transitioning to Manchester.

United’s interim coach, Ruud van Nistelrooy, will continue in his role until Amorim’s arrival. Known for his tactical prowess and a track record that includes ending a 19-year title drought for Sporting CP with two Primeira Liga titles, Amorim is highly regarded in European football circles.
