Troops of the Nigerian Military yesterday inflicted heavy casualties on Boko Haram terrorists in Rann local government area of Borno State.
The troops eliminated 19 terrorists and destroyed five gun trucks after a fierce gun battle.
Rann is a popular town in Kala Balge local government area of Borno State.
The insurgents stormed the area around 6 pm on eight gun trucks, several motorbikes and opened fire on 3 Brigade personnel at their military base.

A source told PRNigeria that after a tactical withdrawal from their base, troops launched a massive aerial and ground counter-attack on the terrorists.
The Air Task Force (ATF) and ground troops forced the terrorists to flee the military base while military snipers engaged them in an ambush.
“During the attack, five gun trucks belonging to the Boko Haram terrorists were destroyed, including the occupants.
“Many terrorists were eliminated during the air interdiction and ground attacks executed by troops.
“At least 19 battered bodies of Boko Haram fighters littered the scene, with the destroyed gun trucks, apart from others in the bush”, the source said.
