After the incident, the Nigerian Navy quickly responded, providing first aid to the injured individuals before transporting them to the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa for further treatment.

The submerged wreck that caused the accident was identified and marked to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the recovered weapons were documented and secured, awaiting proper transfer to the Nigerian Police Force, Bayelsa State Command.
