Newlywed bride in Niger State escapes after killing husband at midnight

In Nasarawa village of Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State, a 20-year-old newlywed bride, Aisha Aliyu has successfully escaped after reportedly killing her husband, Idris Ahmadu.

According to a Daily Trust report, the incident occurred around 1 am, on Monday 12th, February 2024.

Multiple sources revealed that the couple had tied the knot on December 31, 2023, indicating a recent celebration of their union.

However, tensions escalated on Sunday evening when the couple engaged in a minor disagreement. Despite reconciling before retiring for the night, the tranquility was shattered at midnight when the mother of the deceased heard her son’s screams.

Upon investigation by residents, they found Idris Ahmadu lying in a pool of blood, attempting to flee the room before collapsing at the doorstep. The severity of the situation became evident as it was discovered that Aisha Aliyu had allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest before gruesomely slaughtering him.

While speculation arose regarding the nature of their relationship, sources clarified that the couple had been romantically involved for several years, tracing back to their time in secondary school.

Although Aisha had initially expressed doubts about the marriage and even considered marrying someone else, the couple had resolved their differences, with Aisha eventually agreeing to the union.

Confirming the incident, the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed that the authorities received information about the stabbing incident at around noon on Monday, by the time law enforcement arrived at the scene, Aisha Aliyu had fled to an unknown location. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect, with the case now under investigation.
