Nigerian Gov’t suspends 10 private jet operators

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has suspended the licenses of ten private jet companies for violating the agency’s regulations. This announcement was made by Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, via a statement on the agency’s official X page.

The NCAA cited violations of NCAA Regulations 2023 Part 18.3.4, which prohibits holders of Permits for Non-Commercial Flights (PNCF) from using their aircraft for commercial purposes, including carrying passengers, cargo, or mail for hire or reward.

The suspended companies include:

– Azikel Dredging Nigeria Ltd

– Bli-Aviation Safety Services

– Ferry Aviation Developments Ltd

– Matrix Energy Ltd

– Marrietta Management Services Ltd

– Worldwide Skypaths Services

– Mattini Airline Services Ltd

– Aero Lead Ltd

– Sky Bird Air Ltd

– Ezuma Jets Ltd

The NCAA emphasized that engaging PNCF holders for commercial purposes is illegal and warned of enforcement actions against violators. The agency has deployed officials to monitor activities at General Aviation Terminals (GAT) and private airport wings.

Earlier this year, the NCAA suspended three private jet owners for similar infractions, following directives from the aviation minister, Festus Keyamo. The minister also established an eight-member task force to address illegal private chartered operations and related activities, including money laundering and drug trafficking.
