Norwegian Princess’s son faces second rape allegations
The eldest son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Hoiby, is under investigation for a second suspected rape, as confirmed by police on Wednesday.
This development comes just two days after his arrest in connection with a different sexual assault allegation.
Marius, who was born from a previous relationship before his mother’s marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, was initially detained on Monday evening on suspicion of one count of rape.

Following the emergence of a second allegation during the investigation, authorities are seeking to have the 27-year-old remanded in custody.
According to police lawyer Andreas Kruszewski, the new allegation involves sexual intercourse without consent with a woman who was unable to resist the encounter.
Additionally, investigators carried out a search at Borg Hoiby’s residence, seizing relevant items for the ongoing inquiry.
This latest charge follows an earlier accusation of bodily harm related to an incident on August 4 at a woman’s apartment in Oslo, where a dispute occurred. Reports indicated that a knife was discovered lodged in one of the bedroom walls during the police response.
Borg Hoiby was also arrested in September for violating a restraining order. When he was taken into custody on Monday, he was found in a vehicle with the alleged victim from the August incident.
Raised alongside his step-siblings Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 20, and Prince Sverre Magnus, 18, by the royal couple, Marius does not hold any official public role within the royal family.
