Police arrest Pastor, two others over possession of human parts in Ibadan

Three men have been arrested in Ibadan for allegedly possessing and selling suspected human parts following a stop-and-search operation by the Oyo State Police Command.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, said the suspects were apprehended along the Adekile area of Agugu after a patrol team intercepted an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.

“During a search of the pillion, the rider was apprehended on the spot, and a package containing flesh suspected to be human parts (intestine) was recovered,” the statement said.

The police identified the suspect as Oyategbe Joseph, who allegedly confessed during interrogation that he obtained the items from an unidentified individual at Oritaperin area.

He further admitted selling the suspected human parts to two individuals — Onaolapo Taiwo, 46, and Ayodele Taiwo, 55.

Acting on the information, police operatives arrested the two men, who reportedly confessed to purchasing the items from Oyategbe Joseph.

The police said the Commissioner of Police has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.

All three suspects remain in custody and are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.

The command urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, stressing that public cooperation is essential to maintaining law and order.
