Hundreds of horsemen, clad in colorful flowing robes and ornate turbans, galloped into the palace square in a rhythmic display of equestrian skill. They were followed by holders of various traditional titles within the emirate, each displaying the unique regalia associated with their offices. In his address to the gathering, the Emir expressed gratitude to Allah for the peace and stability enjoyed in the emirate.
