Olympics 2024: Amusan fails to reach Olympic women’s 100m hurdles final
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, has failed to reach the final at the Paris Olympics. Amusan finished third in her semi-final with a time of 12.55 seconds, but did not advance as faster times were recorded in the other semi-finals.
Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent clocked 12.44 seconds and France’s Cyrena Samba-Mayela ran 12.52 seconds in their semi-finals, securing the final spots and ending Amusan’s hopes for a podium finish.

Amusan made history in 2022 by setting a new world record of 12.12 seconds in the event. With her elimination, Nigeria faces the possibility of leaving the Games without a medal, as the event concludes on Sunday.
