PMB appoints Bello-Koko as substantive NPA MD

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive managing director of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA).

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Federal Ministry of Transportation in a circular signed by Eric Ojiekwe, director, press and public relations.

Until his appointment, Bello-Koko was in an acting capacity as the NPA MD following the sack of the former MD, Hadiza Bala Usman.

Bello-Koko was elevated as the executive director of finance of the NPA to the acting NPA MD until his confirmation as the substantive boss of the NPA.

His appointment is coming despite reports by the Pandora Papers project led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) that he owns properties in the United Kingdom which he acquired by secretly running offshore businesses in the British Virgin Islands.
