Police arrest suspected ritualist in Yobe

Yobe State Police Command has arrested suspected ritualists over the murder of a ten-year-old Almajiri boy named Aliyu Sale of Bizagula ward in Nangere local government area of the state.

The suspects identified as Adamu and Aminu were arrested days after the incident in Potiskum after they fled to Kano.

Speaking during an interrogation Adamu confessed that he accompanied  Aminu to Garin Baba village in Nangere local government only to discover the corpse of the boy in the car.

According to him, Aminu told him that he tied the neck of the boy till he died while he confessed to cut one of his hands.

“Aminu said i want to throw the body of the boy on our way coming back from Garin Baba, but while coming back we had an accident after i lost control of the car and some people come to us for assistance then Aminu start running away.

“From there we didn’t meet until the following day, we meet at Tashan Dan Borno in Potiskum, but i did not see anything with him from there we proceed to Kano with him together and later on i left him in Kano state, this is all what i know about the incident.” Adamu said.

Guardian of the Almajiri boy, Mallam Kabiru said Aliyu Sale left the house in search of food and about four days he didn’t return home.

“We started looking for him, and we were informed that some people found a corpse and when we went there we found out he was killed.” He said.

Adamu has since been handed over to the police authorities while the police is after Aminu to bring him to face the wrath of the law.
