Police arrest two suspects, rescue alleged victim in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged same-sex-related offence and rescued a victim during an operation in the state.

According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended following a tip-off from members of the public, which led officers to a location where the alleged incident was said to have occurred.

The police said the victim was rescued and has since been placed in protective custody, while preliminary investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Bauchi State stated that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

“The command acted swiftly based on credible information received. Two suspects were arrested, and the victim was rescued. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will be prosecuted accordingly,” the police spokesperson said.

The police further urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing timely and useful information to help maintain law and order in the state.

As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the suspects were not disclosed.
