Police in Yobe arrest 54-year-old woman with 350 rounds of ammunition
The Yobe State Police Command said it has arrested one Hamsatu Modu, 54, of Morami Village in Jakana Konduga LGA of Borno State with 350 rounds of ammunition.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.
He said the suspect was arrested by the police operatives ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu, the state capital.

According to him, the police command received credible intelligence regarding a suspected gunrunner en route to Damaturu.
“Swift action led to the interception of a Golf 3 saloon car, and a thorough search revealed 350 rounds of live 7.62×39 MM ammunition concealed in the suspect’s luggage.
“The suspect is currently undergoing interrogation as investigators work to unravel the criminal network and motives behind the trafficking,” he said.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to combating crime and urged community members to sustain their cooperation with security agencies.
